Jonathan M.S. Cornish, CFA
Portfolio Manager | RBC Dominion Securities Inc.
Seetal Cornish Wealth Management Group
Jon Cornish is what happens when elite discipline meets elite intellect and refuses to stay in one lane. Over nine seasons with the Calgary Stampeders, he carried the ball at 6.7 yards per carry, won two Grey Cups, and was named Canada's most outstanding athlete, the Northern Star Trophy, becoming the first football player to win it since Russ Jackson in 1969. Football Canada now awards the Jon Cornish Trophy annually to the best Canadian NCAA football player.
When most athletes retire, they rest. Jon sat for the CFA, one of the most technically demanding credentials in global finance and passed. Today he manages capital for families and institutions as a Portfolio Manager at RBC Dominion Securities, delivering the same relentless preparation to markets he brought to the field.
Appointed the 15th Chancellor of the University of Calgary, the youngest in Canadian history, Jon has spent his post-athletic life proving that community isn't a backdrop to success; it's the engine of it. As founder of the Calgary Black Chambers, he has raised over half a million dollars to advance inclusion in Calgary's business community. When he speaks, rooms change and it’s not just because of his polish.
