The Alberta Electrical Alliance Christmas Events Fundraise $26,741 for Local Charities

AEA • Dec 16, 2021

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Calgary, AB: The Alberta Electrical Alliance (AEA) proudly announces that this year’s AEA Christmas Fundraisers collectively raised $26,741 for The Magic of Christmas Charity Calgary and the Edmonton Food Bank.

This year’s events also included awarding scholarships and achievement milestones in recognition and celebration of Alberta Electrical Alliance members and the electrical community.

“As always, the electrical community opened their pocketbooks to support the local Magic of Christmas charity with a record $10,000 donation,” says Greg Bedard, Vendor Relations Manager at Rexel Utility. “Not only was there reacquainting with friends and smiling faces, but an excitement in the air of being free from the world’s worries—if only for a few hours.”

AEA member companies and individuals rose to the challenge, supporting both charitable organisations through generous cash, food and toy contributions. Main corporate contributors this year included: BJ Electric, City Electric Supply, EECOL and Troy Life & Fire Safety.

Over the years, the AEA has donated a grand total of over $100,000 to Calgary’s Magic of Christmas Charity.

“From a personal standpoint, the whole event warmed my heart, eased my tension, prepared me for the upcoming holiday season and re-enforced that fact that there is still life in this world,” says Bedard. “Thank you to the organizers as they are always well prepared and make it an easy event to come to and have fun at.”
